WHAT OUR GUEST SHARE

Spirit sent me to the Cedar Grove in June of 2018 where I was met with open arms and held in the embrace of my dear, nurturing friend, Pam. All the whilst I was coming undone as an inner earthquake was erupting.

I immediately felt welcomed and quickly realized that Elissabeth who also lived on the land, was to become my sister along my journey.

It’s not easy to describe this undoing. This falling. This breaking open I was experiencing. I knew I needed to be companioned through this liminal space and held with love, light and the Spirit of the Divine.

I was shown my new space: The Gnosis…a place of learning, contemplation, sensing into what IS. I welcomed being in nature as she is such a teacher and reflection of life. Simple and beautifully crafted is the best way to describe the cabin. I loved the space. It was quaint; a space whose walls sheltered me in an embrace of love energy. Art and shelves lined with personal growth books inspired my writing and reflection on the small desktop.

Located near the edge of the trees away from the main house, I truly felt a sense of remoteness; yet within a five-minute walk, I could be in the presence of others. The silence invited me into my own exploration to the gravity I carried across the miles…for years. Surrounded by cedar trees, as I stepped out the door onto the earth, I was transported to what felt like wilderness with the smell of evergreens. I was actually experiencing my own wilderness as I explored the landscape of my soul. Something was needing to be let go, be released. Something wanted to emerge although I didn’t know what it was.

Every corner of this small cabin served its purpose. A place to write, meditate and practice yoga. A single bed to rest and read. At night I heard the call of owls and at dawn, I saw deer welcoming me to a new day.

The Gnosis was a place I would come to know as home while I rode the waves of emotion toward healing and transformation—a return to Home. I AM home.

The Hermitage is a safe and

supportive retreat in nature, surrounded by a loving, soulful community.

A peaceful haven in a grove of cedars, all holding a deep space for spiritual healing.

When I was there, Pam, Dan and Elissabeth opened their hearts and home to me for as long as I felt the need.

I walked away feeling validated, renewed and reconnected to what I would call the oneness in all.

I envision myself returning to this sacred space again someday and being held and hold in Hermitage’s community of soulful love .

I had little time and resources as the primary caregiver for my husband who had a rare kind of early-onset Alzheimer’s. Cedar Grove welcomed me and my service dog in training, Hope. I packed dog crate and books and tea and snacks. That evening I read and prayed and played with Hope That night I slept!-- a privilege I hadn't had in months (as I paid for someone to care for my spouse one night). In the morning I saw snowshoe hares & listened to bird songs. Even though I had only 24 hours to get away, that brief retreat's refreshment lasted days.

I love staying out at Cedar Grove. My husband and I have stayed out there twice and both times were wonderful. The environment that Pamela and Elissabeth have created on the property and in the hermitages is one of peace and tranquility. They are both excellent, loving hosts and it always feels like getting to go stay with family.

The hermitages have been a welcome retreat from the stress of the outside world.

I personally love the Gnosis cabin. It feels like getting to stay in a little library out in the middle of the woods!
